Thank you for visiting the website for The Classical Academy. My name is Jonelle Godfrey, and as your principal, I am pleased to welcome you to our school. We are Escondido's premier charter elementary school. Operating since 1999, we "partner with parents" in their mission to educate their children. Our program spans Kindergarten through 8th grade and we offer optional weekly workshops and Friday enrichment labs for students. At The Classical Academy we seek to create "Thinkers, Communicators, and Achievers", Kindergarten through 8th grade.
The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and our students continually out perform other area schools due to the fact that they work so closely with their parents and are supervised by a credentialed teacher.
Our mission is to inspire students, empower parents, and promote a life-long love for learning by creating an environment where academic success is personalized and achievable for all children. Parents, working with credentialed teachers, prepare, monitor, and implement programs that enrich, challenge, and inspire students to embrace personalized academic success.

Coastal Academy Teacher Awarded "Teacher of the Year"
Congratulations to Coastal Academy teacher, Danielle Diaz for receiving the prestigious "Teacher of the Year" award from The California Charter School's Association (CCSA). Diaz will be officially awarded with the 2010 Hart Vision Award at the annual Charter Schools Association Conference in March.
This honor is especially important to The Classical Academies, as TCA is the first independent charter school to have a teacher receive this recognition by the CCSA. We are thrilled as an organization, to not only have a great teacher on staff, but to have the best charter school teacher in the state of California!

When: Friday, November 6th Please arrive EARLY and wait outside.
2:00pm = 3rd graders
2:10pm = 4th graders
2:20pm = 5th graders
2:30pm = 6th graders
2:40pm = 7th graders
2:50pm = 8th graders
Where: The Library also known as the “Cottage.” It is the building between the main office and Kindergarten

Friday Lab Catalog, Session II 09-10
Please find the attached Friday Enrichment Lab Catalog for the first session of labs starting February 12th, 2010. Session II Dates are Feb 12th, 19th, 26th, March 5th, 26th, April 9th and 16th. Keeping Students Healthy - What You Need to Know!
Dear Parents:
We have been very busy over the past several weeks sprucing up the campuses and are ready for your return on August 17, 2009. We have much to celebrate and we are thrilled to be entering a second decade of service and success to North County.
With the resurgence of press on the H1N1 (Swine Flu) virus, we wanted to be clear on our expectations for you and your family. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released new information this week on their predictions that we will see a spike in the number of cases this fall.
