The Classical Academies were founded on the principle of supporting parents in their mission to educate their children. Since its’ inception, the school has provided parent training as a means of helping parents and students succeed. There are four types of parent training throughout the year: Jumpstart Conference, Parent Information and Education (PIE) Nights, Parent Education and Packet Preview (PEPP) Talks, and Friday Chats.
The Jumpstart Conference is an annual event held at the beginning of each school year. Parents from all three of our schools are invited to attend a day of educational workshops to help them “jump start” the school year. Parents are provided with valuable training opportunities, specialized workshops, and the opportunity to hear dynamic speakers.
Parent Information and Education (PIE) Nights are special parent training evenings held three times throughout the school year. These meetings feature a national speaker or author whose goal is to educate and inspire parents. PIE Nights are great opportunity to network with other parents who share the same passion for educating their children.
Parent Education and Packet Preview (PEPP) provides parents with the opportunity to learn about what will be happening in the classroom or in the upcoming unit study. Since curricula is divided into five week study packets, PEPP Talks allow parents to meet with classroom teachers prior to the start of the packet and review objectives, learning goals, ask questions, and clarify classroom or project expectations.
Friday Chats are held periodically throughout the school year and are designed to provide an informal social setting where parents can share tips and resources, network, and learn about a topic of interest. Brief educational workshops are presented by Educational Specialists or teachers which are relevant, helpful, and encouraging Chats are typically held on campus and are followed by a park play day.
