Students work on daily lessons in language arts.  Language arts include reading, writing, grammar, and spelling.  Students are evaluated on their learning with the usage of Measures of Academic Progress (MAPS) assessment and Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) Testing. Struggling readers can also be evaluated by the school’s Reading Specialist.  The Reading Specialist works with students on all tracks to provide reading support and assistance to ensure that all students become better readers, and also to provide feedback and resources for the teachers and parents.  Students who are struggling in reading can work with Reading Specialist for tutoring session.
