Classical Academy Middle School (CAMS) Summit Learning Program received the prestigious Rise Award. This national recognition honors schools with systems, structures, and cultures that prepare students with the skills and knowledge to succeed in life beyond the classroom. CAMS was selected for its high-quality implementation of the Summit Learning approach and commitment to continuous improvement of teaching and learning.
The Rise committee noted high levels of student engagement, positive classroom, and school culture, and commitment to continual improvement despite the logistical challenges of not having students on campus daily. CAMS demonstrated a robust implementation of the Summit Learning tenets of rigor, customization, self-direction, and a whole campus approach to collaboration between the tracks.
“This recognition will have several positive impacts,” stated CAMS Principal Jennifer Morrow, “including increased visibility and recognition, improved morale, improved recruitment and improved student retention. We are very honored to be recognized.” The award will be presented on June 1st virtually.
