Coastal Academy High School Girls Soccer Makes Historic Run to CIF State Finals

Coastal Academy High School (CAH) girls soccer team made history this season, becoming the first team in school history to advance to the CIF State Finals and finishing with an impressive 18-5-2 record. The team captured the CIF San Diego Section championship on February 26th with a 1-0 victory over Preuss. They continued their momentum in the CIF SoCal Regionals, winning three matches and securing the regional title with a 2-0 win over Kennedy High School (Delano) on March 7th. As CIF SoCal Champions, CAH advanced to the CIF State Championship game in Sacramento, where they faced Lowell High School (San Francisco). The team finished as CIF State runner-up after a hard-fought match. The season also brought individual recognition, with Janina Contreras earning 2nd Team All-CIF honors and Head Coach Chad Dodd being named CIF San Diego Section Coach of the Year. The team’s historic run marks a milestone for Coastal Academy and reflects a season defined by determination, teamwork, and excellence.
