Coastal Academy High School proudly recognizes Alek Madrigal as a Rising Star. Alek is a quietly ambitious young man who has shown resilience and determination throughout his high school career. After falling behind academically, he told his school counselor he wanted to attend a four-year college after high school. Alex’s counselor laid out a plan that included summer school, advanced classes, and retaking some courses. After three years of determination, Alex was accepted into California State University San Marcos and plans to major in biological sciences with a concentration in molecular and cellular biology. On February 27, 2024, Alek was honored, and his success was celebrated by the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, The Mayor of Oceanside, and the Oceanside School Board.
