Classical Academy Sixth-grader Dash Guttiere recently earned top honors for his work on stage, receiving the Best Actor in a Musical award for his performance as Augustus Gloop in Willy Wonka. The award is presented through Associated Community Theatres of San Diego County (ACT San Diego), an organization that has supported and celebrated community theater throughout the region since 1963. Through its annual awards program, performers and theater creators are recognized for outstanding work in productions across San Diego County. Dash was the only student nominated in his category and was considered alongside adult performers from the San Diego community theater scene.
