The Solomonson family is passionate about robotics. For years, their three boys have participated in The Classical Academies' Lego Robotics and Classical Academy High School's Robotics Team. During the COVID shutdown, the team experienced competition cancellations and quickly pivoted and regrouped to create an Industrial Robotics Club. They purchased a robotic arm and adapted it to utilize various tools to make grilled cheese sandwiches. Students, working with mentors, collaborated to develop solutions and processes to create a working robot, ultimately developing critical problem-solving and innovative skills for their future.
