Abigail and Eleanor Cheng took first place at the Skate by the Sea figure skating competition in La Jolla on August 22, 2026. The sisters competed together in the Pre-Preliminary Showcase Duet category. Abigail is in 11th grade, and Eleanor is a 9th-grade  at The Classical Academy High School.  Competing as a duet gives the sisters an opportunity to combine their individual skating skills in a shared performance. Their first-place finish highlights the time and commitment they have dedicated to the sport while continuing their high school studies.
