Coastal Academy High School Sophomore, Avery Gallegar, qualified to compete at the 2025 U.S. Figure Skating Nationals in Colorado Springs. This elite event is hosted at the Broadmoor World Arena, a renowned Olympic training site. Avery has also earned a place at the 2025 National Showcase in Rochester, Michigan, which celebrates creativity and performance on the ice. To qualify for both events is a rare accomplishment that reflects years of discipline and dedication. Avery trains locally at Carlsbad Ice Realm, under coach and Classical Academies alumnus, Baltazar Polling.
Avery is a scholar athlete with a 4.0 GPA and serves on the Junior Board of the La Jolla Figure Skating Club. She also gives back to the sport by mentoring younger skaters. Her journey is a powerful example of what students can achieve when they combine academic excellence with passion and purpose outside the classroom.
