Cassidy Cole, a senior at Classical Academy High School (CAHS), was recognized by the Escondido Chamber of Commerce as a Rising Star. She was nominated by many of her teachers for her hard work, perseverance, and personal story that shaped her character. The Rising Star Program aims to champion students who have overcome significant life challenges but have managed to stay on track with their education. The Chamber honors one high school senior each month from area high schools at a breakfast event. At the end of the school year, scholarships from $1,000 - $5,000 are awarded to students to assist in funding a 2-4 year post-secondary education.
