Coastal High School launched its inaugural FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team, "Rayvolution," in December, finishing 9th out of 42 teams. A key factor in this success was the team's dedication to fine-tuning the robot's autonomous mode to consistently score up to 18 additional points per match, a feat that reflects the guidance of their industry mentors and the students' relentless hard work. Beyond the engineering, the team's organizational strategy proved critical. Students filled specialized roles, from data collectors and pit crew to alliance ambassadors, gaining invaluable experience in leadership, engineering, and collaboration.
