Students Compete in First Games for Change Jam

April 14, 2026

Classical Academy High School Personalized Learning (PL) partnered with ASU’s Endless Labs to host Escondido’s first-ever Games for Change Jam, bringing together more than 20 students from four schools. Students formed six teams to design and build original video games centered on the theme Outgrowing Hunger. Using platforms such as Unreal Engine, Unity, Scratch, and Endstar, teams developed games that were judged by video game industry professionals based on gameplay, character design, theme, and visuals. The grand prize was awarded to Team Green, Mason Power, Milo Ollila, Cameran Noseworthy, Tomas Trujillo Carrion, and Jack Duffy, for their game Farmer’s Valley. The team spent dozens of hours developing characters, environments, and a quest-based system in Unreal Engine, earning each member over $100 in gift cards. All participants will submit their games to the national Games for Change competition in New York this May.
