Classical Academy Middle School (CAMS) students are taking learning to new heights this year with a hands-on Science of Flight unit, where they design, build, and launch their own hot air balloons. The project gives students a practical understanding of temperature, air density, volume, and buoyancy, culminating in a launch that brings scientific concepts to life. The program is supported by a generous grant from the Bessie Minor Swift Foundation, allowing CAMS to offer engaging, real-world science experiences to students. Science teacher Julie Entzminger is recognized for her creativity and leadership, creating a campus-wide culture of curiosity and hands-on learning.
